Precharge Control Unit
Battery systems are expected to have no voltage difference between the battery and the receivers at the moment before the batteries’ activation. For this reason, before activating the contactors of the battery system, the battery and receiver voltages are compared by energizing the receiver side via the PCU unit. When both voltage levels are equalized, the precharge status is reported to the system by giving a signal from the PCU physical outputs or by communicating over the CAN line.
